I agree that the documentary device was clumsy and mostly unnecessary, but de Havilland could hardly have been left out of FEUD entirely, given her friendship with Davis (assuming that is true) and her replacing Crawford in HUSH HUSH, SWEET CHARLOTTE.

I would love to know how Murphy selected Joan Blondell as the other "interviewee" considering that she really didn't have a big connection with either Crawford or Davis and is almost completely forgotten today. Maybe Murphy is just fan of her work and wanted to shoehorn her in just for fun.
