Not the first time Williams combined homosexuality and cannibalism in a piece of writing. "Desire and the Black Masseur," a short story he wrote several years prior to "Suddenly Last Summer," incorporates both (along with sado-masochism.) It was adapted not too long ago by Marcus Gardley and performed along with several other adaptations of stories by Williams under the collective title "Desire" at 59E59.
