Her tweet is so opposite of what I just told my students to expect. We just (today) came back from a 5 show 4 day weekend in New York. A group of 25 theatre enthusiasts that have never been to NYC other than my wife and I. We told them of our experiences at the stage doors of theatres. How it was always a something special if anybody (recognizable or not) came out and spent time with us. In the four shows that everybody went to (even the Saturday Matinee where I expected almost nobody), they had appreciative, friendly, and interested cast members come out--but what made it special is that they didn't really expect it. After every show, I said tomorrow might not be the same....and almost every time it was even better.

I don't understand why anybody would think they are owed time with these performers who have just put their heart on stage, and even more lash out at them on social media. Attend the show you paid for, enjoying the show, and meeting the cast is completely a bonus.
