Thank you NY (City and )Theatre

I mentioned below that I just returned from a trip with 24 other people to NYC taking in four shows in three days (some of us did 5). I've been to NYC about 10 times and love it every time. My students were predisposed to believe that New Yorkers are unfriendly people (some times midwesterners think "nice" is only found here). I told them, however, to not be surprised at how nice people really are in New York. The people that work in the service industries around Broadway theatres are some of the nicest employees I've experienced. They want you to have a good experience.

I've had the great opportunity to revisit some shows (Chicago, Miss Saigon, and Cats) that the kids wanted to see for the first time, and then take in some new shows (Come From Away and The Play That Goes Wrong--both of which are high on my favorite experiences list). It was a great trip and your city, your theatre, your performers, and so many more people, really gave my small town Minnesota (about the size of Gander) students an experience they will forever remember with not just fondness, but with a new view of the world outside our little corner (and of course an even great love for theatre).

I've brought three other groups to NYC. All have enjoyed their visit, but I think the hospitality was especially great this time. Thank you!
