Totally. I wouldn't be surprised if the reason this mother is so angry is because of pressure from the daughters, who would have total Facebook dominance if they had a photo with Ben Platt. They would rule the school.

And meanwhile, Ben Platt is doing the work of an athlete, and he's going to need time and space to come down from the show (or perhaps stay in it), otherwise he will suffer physical damage, the same as any other athlete.

The mother also said that being an actor isn't as hard as other jobs, but that's almost certainly because she has no idea how much work is actually involved in pulling off that performance 8 times a week for a year. Most people never go far enough in performance to get to the part where it actually becomes hard work; and yet they seem to imagine that it stays just as fun and effortless for professionals as it did for them when they were school kids. This would be like me thinking that a professional athlete puts in as much work to their sport as I did to high school P.E. soccer, where I was always a fullback so I didn't have to run as far.

I understand the mistake that she's making, even as I'm baffled that someone could feel so entitled to another human being's free labor, but then she is a Trump voter. (Of course, they say the exact same thing about us.)
