I recall watching a documentary about him which covered this. Very scary. A friend of mine was complaining about severe back pain and his doctors couldn't figure out the cause. With very little time to spare they finally found an aortic aneurysm. His aorta was the size of a grapefruit and ready to burst. Luckily they were able to do bypass surgery in the nick of time.
