Don't take the bait! I can't help but wonder if the acknowledgement by Platt makes this a bigger story than it really would have been. He really didn't need to defend himself and could have easily blocked the user and removed her Tweet rather than dignifying her stupidity with a response. If this woman has friends, I'm sure they roll their eyes about her and her antics.

Diana McLaughlin might be getting the attention because she berated Ben Platt on Twitter, but she's not alone. Others have posted on message boards, etc., about their disappointment and/or anger that Platt rarely stage-doors. I imagine Platt's been feeling the heat from this, and besieged by criticisms of his absences during Tony weekend. This might've been a tipping point, so Platt finally felt it was time to address it.
