Agreed. But I find that I actually prefer "El Dorado" as a piece of music, and its lyric moves me even more. This is ***not*** a knock on "Make Our Garden Grow," as there is no piece of music in the original Candide that I do not love. And I'm hard pressed to think of any other musical I can say that about.
