| I went into the Broadway production as a last minute substitute for Dear Evan Hansen, which didn't have any seats (this was two months before the Tony Awards). Lucked into a good pair in the Orchestra, far enough back to see everything. I didn't expect to like it very much, but I really loved it--the music, the dancing, the pirogies, the acting, the self-knowing issues around complicated plot and several names for each character. Still haven't seen DEH or Come From Away, but between Comet and Groundhog Day (another substitute which I liked a lot--it was Tony weekend and though I was prepared to pay above ticket price for DEH, Mr. Platt was resting voice), I've had two nice surprises. |
