Although Music Man's stage script had everything from "Rock Island" to "Marian the Librarian" taking place on July 4, the film script redistributed scenes so they occurred on successive days; they were broken up with daylight sequences (like the pea-shelling "I Love Music, Mommy" scene) that indicated a new day had begun.
In the film, "Marian the Librarian" takes place after July 4. |
