Watching the linked video of Sonya Alone (my favorite song from Natasha Pierre...) sung by both incomer Ingrid MIchelson and outgoer Brittain Ashford I am prompted to think it was kind of a STRANGE choice to make this one a duet for the both of them to sing promotionally. I get that it's marketing, but still - why not just release a version of Ingrid singing it? Part of the wonder of the song is that Sonya is, well, alone.
So then I started thinking - any other weird clips out there of duets made of songs that were probably best left as solos? Some tucked away dual Rose's Turn with Bernadette and Patti? Being Alive with two Bobby's?
Hope this isn't a verboten 'poll' - not asking for favorites, just contributions :)
And of course maybe I'm just too attached to the song and others love it as a duet! |
