IMO - Gaston is no bully, just a buffoon - pretty comical in his puffed-up brainless vanity. Disney's version of Carl-Magnus, lol. Not a character that warrants booing. Even as things get darker in Act II, I don't see him as such a threatening character. Only perhaps in the fight with the Beast.
I know that Ismay got booed in the original production of Titanic - that makes more sense to me - if indeed booing a character is really something necessary at all, lol. |
