| There are two recordings of Duet for One from 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, in which one actress plays two first ladies: outgoing Julia Grant and incoming Lucy( Mrs. Rutherford B) Hayes. June Anderson's version , on White House Cantata, is fine, But the version on a John McGlinn anthology(on Angel/Emi), titled Broadway Showstoppers, is sung/acted by double Tony winner Judy Kaye. It is amazing; She nails every laugh line and you don't have to check the libretto to understand every word. |
