| I reviewed a production for Florida West Coast July 2015 that starred our local favorite Matthew McGee in the title role. He played it as if he was a woman, in other words more or less straight. I didn't care for it, Mame is not the strongest musical ever written, so a gimmick like that only weakens it further, IMHO. |
