i was there tonight also. I was disappointed, But mind you i have a hard opinion having worked with Carol Channing on her 1980 Dolly! Comic Genius!

The night i saw Bette she got 4 standing ovations during the show, with just a pinkie wiggle.

Tonight a man in the front row was madly gesturing with his arms trying to get the audience to stand up after the Dolly number, he reminded me of Charles Lowe,

Bottom line is Donna is not perfect, I felt i was watching a performance for the Aire Crown Theater in Chicago.

I loved the rest of the cast, the sets, the costumes, all top notch,

DHP found a new bit in his first scene that got a huge LOL

The over all show is in great shape.

Bottom line is you didn't like her, not that she isn't perfect.

Agreed. The audience was with Donna from the moment she put dw the paper. And yes, the guy in the first row wanted to audience to stand - but that doesn't make Donna inadequate. The cast is better... the show is splendid. And I loved Donna's accent.
Ive seen Bette 100 times on stage- and 2 times in Dolly - she's great- schtick and all. But Donna was a wonderful actress in a top notch production.
