August of 2002, I was a supernumerary in Wolf Trap Opera's production of Street Scene. To this day my favorite opera in the Wolf Trap Filene Center. The stage set (rented from Minnesota Opera) was stunningly realistic and one of the best I have ever worked on. "Ain't It Awful, the Heat?" as you probably know is the opening number in Act I. Mother Nature added the perfect atmosphere of heat & humidity for this beautiful production. It was so hot on-stage fans and water cooler stations were set up in the wings and behind the enormous set. Fond memories.
110 in the Shade is a show favorite for mood on my stereo during an extreme heat wave in the Washington, DC area. ;-) |
