Why? Bandstand is an original musical with a wonderful score and is better than expected, and won a Tony or Choreography but was otherwise ignored by the Tonys despite it's quality, making it a underdog worthy praising.
Anastasia is an old animated kids musical that never inspired THAT much excitement in the first place as a movie or when announced for the stage, and the reviews and word of mouth have both said it is mediocre at best. And Charlie is a tired property that has been done several times in serval mediums to varying success, and already has a musical film most love -- and the show in London wasn't even well reviewed and then the transfer stripped it of the scenery and the reviews and word of mouth have generally been terrible.
And there were plenty of War Paint posts when it first started performing, it began like 2 months before Bandstand give or take.
Point is, I don't find it surprising that people are compelled to post about it. |
