The link from Playbill sounds good but I don't think it's a complete explanation. I thought that Stagebill was something the producer paid for and had control over the content of the number of pages they received and could receive the income from adverting on their pages. I may be wrong as it's been many years and when Playbill acquired them the business model could have changed.

Interesting! Of course they still alcohol on their properties. And it didn't look like the pirates in the attraction were drinking Ovaltine!
