| He was discussing his bio on Mary Martin. He mentioned the idea for The Sound of Music came from Martin after seeing a German documentary about the Trapped family. I've see the film on YouTube. It is not a documentary. Maybe a docudrama but it was definitely not with the real Trapps. It was made in the 50's and the Trapp "kids" were all adults by then. I found the program spent too much time on Martin's (and her husband's) sexuality (quelle surprise, there are gay people in showbiz!) which meant less time to discuss her work.Nice to see Sondra Lee. No Time, of course, to talk about Dolly. Or was this a re-run from before the revival opened? Would love to hear her take on the revival since she worked with Champion, etc al on the original. Maybe they'll ask her back. |
