My sense of the show is that it's a hybrid between a monumenr and a memorial. It's both a testament to Prince's career for him to be honored while he's alive, and the first draft of the legacy we'll be celebrating after he dies.
The show doesn't really appeal to me (not least because the Japanese production looked cheap), but I think Prince has earned the right to have his career canonized, and it's a nice thing for his succesors to do while he's still here to enjoy it. |
