I totally agree with you, equally sight unseen. ;-)
For me, what makes this odd as a piece of theater is that Prince's work was all about his overarching concept for a show, and how that ran through the entire evening. Pulling songs out of context doesn't seem to do his work honor. But as a museum piece, or a greatest hits before he goes (his theatrical life unfolding before his/our eyes), I'm almost tempted to go see it. |
