Very interesting. It was odd for a bona-fide smash to present numbers on The Ed Sullivan Show. That usually only happened much later in the run, when the original star(s) had departed and the show was no longer selling out. Perhaps playing downtown at the Anta Washington Square helped it to take some time for "Man of La Mancha" to catch on.
