Do they do anything in "The Right Girl" that remotely resembles the original choreography? With all the levels and stairs? With that penultimate jump to the platform and spin around the pole, followed by that crazy karate roundhouse? And with a 50 year-old dancing it (back when that felt and looked older than it does today)? Immediately into the scene?!
'Cause that's what made it so special when Hal Prince did it.
A part of me really wants to see this show, but I fear it will just be a Hal Prince manque, which might make me kind of sad for what's happened to theater in his lifetime. |
