| "It's a business." And: "A contract is a contract is a contract." Everything about the Groban exit reeked of bad producing. Groban was for months marketed as the face of the show - after he left, what marketing was left? I think they realized this too late and shoehorned Ingrid Michelson in out of desperation. Can you name the last time a headlining star (of any color) was replaced (by an actor of any color) before the end of their limited run in a bid increase sales? It may be a business, but it seems to me that the Kagans have really fumbled theirs this time. To me, that's the real sad story here for this big, sad show. |
