Yes, the factor of whether these names would be willing to follow Groban in, especially as a stop gap measure and especially after this "scandal", is the trickiest part, and the part that will really sour it for most or all name people.
But this is why I think someone like Esparza or Stokes is their only hope for the next couple of months... they need someone with at least a name and draw in the theater world to give things a chance to rest and disassociate from the Oak/Mandy issue and give it a few months separation from Groban leaving.
But there are quite a lot of name people who can help the box office for a couple of months who don't seem to mind following or replacing someone... it's worked for other shows hundreds of times... look at Kinky Boots. |
