I don't think they were willing before the "scandal." Let's posit a slightly different scenario. Suppose the planets had aligned in such a way that Mandy was available for the 3 weeks just after Oak's announced tenure. (so no scandal) I don't think Esparza or Stokes is enough to get the advance up from what I assume is $400-500k (Oak, post Ingrid) to a million which is basically just above break even. As I have repeatedly said, this show was designed to fail. And I don't think this show has the same kind of surface appeal that Kinky does that lets Urie come in and kill.
we shall see. I think a lot of folks just are thinking shoot it and put it out of its misery, but then we remember this is the Kagans who would not let On the Town die with dignity. |
