| And if it does close... I'll be bummed, I think it's a brilliant show more people should experience, not to mention the large cast and crew that won't have a job in a good show, many of them POC... but it will have run 10 months on Broadway (or a year if it can last till October somehow) a hard thing for many great shows to do especially ones that are hard to market, with 2 other major productions in NYC prior to broadway plus the run at A.R.T., and has release TWO double-CD cast albums and performed on the Tonys and some talk shows, got many fantastic reviews, the most Tony noms in 2017, etc. So it's not like it will die in obscurity. But it will have died prematurely I think, if it dies before October or even Jan 2018. I think with a name or two they could keep it running till Dec and Dec is christmas so it's better for business either way. Whatever, I hope it lasts as long as it can. At this point I don't care how much money these producers may lose, I want more weeks of the cast getting paid and audiences getting to see it - even at 50% capacity, that's still 4,800 people a week seeing the show. |
