indeed. :)

RE: re: "Kinda" ... got it. And I think that the point must be, and should have been more heavily considered that the producers -- even assuming they are guilty of not being able to appreciate "the system" because of their race and the privilege that comes with it -- they would not have acted differently or even had other choices of action even if they did appreciate the system. They are producers with a box office that was significantly down when Oak came in, only saved by NAME singer Ingrid Michaelson for the time being (she is also white by chance)... other than replacing him with a black name-singer or at least black theater legend, and we have no reason to assume they didn't try that or go out to some names (because remember Mandy isn't the biggest name in the world and isn't surefire box office either - a good bet to take but not sure at all) -- but what makes anyone think there was such a person interested and available for the commitment of this show with what they could pay to be a replacement?
I think as producers they have the main responsibility to keep the show running at cost or for a profit if at all possible. Neither was going to be happening with Oak. So they had to fix it. A good producer doesn't just let the show lose money for a few weeks to save face because they happened to put a black actor in the lead role (after a white actor originated it). They did what was needed, they paid him out the rest of his contract and replaced him with a famous and also legendarily talented stage actor.

Anyway... i don't want to rehash. The point is I'm not sure what other options people (ie the backlashing social media-sphere) think the producers had.
