| Shows still run at a loss. I would not put it past these producers to try to make it through some rough weeks if there is a star coming in, for example, or give it two weeks to run and see if it picks up any steam or just for pride. I have been in many theaters where it seems to be at 50-65% capacity... and it wasn't the closing night. Sometimes it just happens, I'm not saying they can run it like that for any real amount of time. But you know, it could be at 70% capacity for 4 shows and then 50% for 4, that's 60% for the week, even though half the week didn't seem so bad. I could seem them running 2 weeks like that for sure. |
