How many of the tweets and responses have you read? How many of those argue that Oak was fired because of racism? Where have you seen the argument that they wouldn't have fired a white Joe Schmo?
A complicated situation involving a deceitful narrative that hid the box office troubles of the show in order to make it look as if Mandy asked to be in the show has been reduced to whether or not firing Oak in favor of Mandy is racist, full stop.
A very small portion of the original response made that accusation of overt racism, and that response was not the reason that Mandy stepped away. In retrospect, box office is used to explain/argue why this move was made, but the box office was not a factor in the original response. The box office reality was only revealed after Mandy withdrew. |
