Doesn't even always happen at the Times. And how do you "fact check" a gossip columnist... the only sources for the info are the ones he got it from. That's as good as asking Michael "are you sure they said that?"
Not to mention that many times fact-checker miss things, often, or get them wrong, and sometimes don't even check something that they assume is true or that the author must know. |
