Your reasoning is certainly plausible, but I get the sense that things are far more dire.
I don't see what press or attention Mandy would have brought that Groban and the Tonys didn't already bring. And while it's possible that they had to work around Patinkin's TV schedule as they claimed, it does strike me as suspicious that they brought in Mandy precisely when Ingrid Michaelson left, which says to me that sales were so bad they couldn't afford to run at a loss.
If they're only clearing 200 - 300K, and they've only paid off 20% of their investment, and then they start to lose a half million a week... how long until they lose what little money they've made? That's the sense that I get of their finances, based on their odd choices as of late. |
