I agree...while the show has a lot of profanity, it's not really making fun of anyone, even Mormons. It just puts some Mormon beliefs out there and, if one happens to find those hilarious, that's on the person responding, not the religion. It's not at all like the same writers' take downs of Mormons, Scientologists, etc. on SOUTH PARK.
I wonder if the creatives will bother trying to put together a "school edition" of BOOK OF MORMON. I'm not a big fan of those (other than ones that exist to present songs in better keys for developing voices) because I think, if you want to do a show, you do it, not some bastardized version of it that's assuming that students are too stupid or naive to handle the original material, but they seem to be popular now. |
