Except it's NOT a case of life imitating art, as Dorothy Brock was never charged with sexual misconduct (still just alleged, but this seems to be a pattern of Wopat's, including other productions, from things that have been said) or drug possession (admitted by Wopat), plus other allegations of things like coming to rehearsal drunk, using objectionable language even after having been told not to, etc.
Yes, I'm glad that the show is running and that Allegretto stepped up (literally, as he was originally playing Pat Denning), but this is a very serious issue, and Wopat does have a pending court date. Innocent until proven guilty, yes - but if the charges are true, it's so important to applaud the women who came forward on this - something that we know does not always happen. |
