Yeah, the Ahmanson is too big for this script, as it was for "Doubt" and several national tours I've seen there. But the alternative is never seeing that script performed live, with top-level actors in a well-funded production. So I sit as close to the 10th row orchestra that I can, even if that means buying a seat further back and quietly moving in when I spot an accessible empty seat.
The Ahmanson used to sell extreme side orchestra seats all the way to the stage, often with slightly blocked views, relatively inexpensively. But that policy vanished when the theater began depending on national tours. |
