No it is not more offensive than most shows. No one ever said that.
But yes, I have heard (and seen) worst in a number of shows over the years. I can think of at least 3 plays where character said they were going to perform sex acts on god or commanded others to do so.
Usually it is nudity and/or simulated sex that gets more opprobrium than lines like that. And even so, you see a lot of that onstage. In fact I would say I have seen a lot more nudity and simulated sex onstage outside New York than I ever did on or off Broadway. |
