Good point....I remember when A QUIET THING started playing during the overture, "Wow, I can hardly wait to hear that song tonight"....and then it didn't happen.
I'm not sure they were focused on the big hits as much as they were looking for pieces that could show off this production's performesr... from FOLLIES we didn't get BROADWAY BABY, but got THE RIGHT GIRL.... nobody was old enough to do I'M STILL HERE, but you had 8 performers that could do GIRLS UPSTAIRS....
I guess they had an awful lot to choose from, so we were bound to get a little disappointed by what was overlooked. There were pleasant surprises, though. |
