| I've always felt the score to the show was a bit underrated, in terms of the public response to the play. I like how well Malloy balances the classic, art, showtune, and pop; but I know the score has been quite polarizing on this sight. I remain skeptical that Mandy would have breathed much life into the Broadway finances. The show is still running through his announced three weeks, and presumably if the Kagans had a star lined up, they would bring him or her in. Maybe Mandy would have bought them the chance to close at the end of September, but I think the poor show was toast regardless... |
