| A terrific entertainment, with a great cast doing work that exceeds even their prior best. So many spectacular standout numbers. I would have liked more narrative about Prince, for sure, but the evening is nonetheless rousing and impressive. Prince and Sondheim were in the house last night, taking rear seats before curtain. Interesting observation: the set for the SHE LOVES ME sequence, which is the outside view of the shop, includes a small, hard to see emblem that says "Eckart 1963." I wonder if the names of any other set designers appear elsewhere in this staging. Has anyone mentioned how stunning, slim and regal, Emily Skinner appears in her red sheath gown for the FOLLIES number? She and Ms. Ziemba made a convincing case last night for being cast if there should ever be another revival of that show. Well worth seeing. |
