You are so correct - especially because the License Fee (Rent) for a show is 7% or 8% for adjusted Gross against a fixed amount.
So knock off 12% from the $875,000 (it would be at least that much, in my experience) and adjusted gross might actually be $770,000- Then the theatre takes 7% - $62,000. And suddenly there is only $708,000 trickling back to cover cast, crew, musicians, theatre staff, insurance, advertising, and on and on. A show the size of THE GREAT COMET would - I imagine - have 'average' weekly costs in that neighborhood ... |
