| That one was the best production I ever saw of it, and it was exquisite in every way. Lonette McKee first did Julie in that one, Sheryl Woods was Magnolia and Ron Raines was Ravenal. Parthy's role didn't have to be built up to accommodate Prince fave Elaine Stritch. O'Connor did amazing work in the melodrama and did some tap specialty that a great song 'n dance man Cap'n Andy would do. Bruce Hubbard sang the best "Ol' Man River" since Robeson and Warfield. It was magnificent. |
