| Of the Sallys I've seen (including Donna McKechnie, Bernadette Peters, Victoria Clark, Judith Ivey, Susan Moniz), Crosby was easily the best. A gorgeous voice and a fully-realized characterization. She played Sally as far less vulnerable than other performers I've seen, and it worked. The entire production was very strong. I'd forgotten that Ziemba was the originally slated Sally for that production. I bet she would be terrific still. |
