| Just because someone wrote it doesn't mean it's true. If you didn't know better that's understandable, but anyone who follows the grosses knows that September is decidedly NOT a strong month for Broadway. Yes, the blockbusters are still going to sell out. But in general no, and certainly not for a struggling show. You can see in this chart the drastic downtick in grosses around week 37 which is generally the beginning of September. You will then see a very gradual build into the holiday months. That's also why Broadway week, with a very generous buy one get one offer, happens in September to give sales a boost. |
