How could they do NOTHING from Zorba?! And "Dressing Them Up" is a bizarre and rather slight choice for this revue... if you're going to do a solo character song how about "She's a Woman"? But of all the incredible production numbers in that show... very odd indeed.
And for Parade... UGH. A great moment in the show much not my favorite song in it, and it was the one the did on the Tonys, there on youtube for anyone to see. They should have done something from the stunningly staged courtroom sequence, like "Come Up to My Office"... or at least the gorgeous and powerful "All the Wasted Time" which is the first time we see the love story come together, which was one of the most untraditional things about this musical, that there is a love story at the core but it doesn't take hold really until the 2nd half of act 2.
I do not understand this show (Prince of Broadway) at all. |
