No better song in any other score than "Night will Come", best comedy song in "Nobody Cares"... these are my opinions. I didn't laugh as mich at any of the other shows or feel the emotion that I felt in the homeless man dying scene.
I am not saying this about Dramedy because I have no idea, I do have a theory why a couple of people here don't seem to like it. Rather than have the main characters sing all the main songs Tim went the route of having very secondary characters suddenly sing some of the biggest songs to illuminate the story. Hence the "unearned" comments here saying the people somehow didn't deserve the spotlight. This is kinda typical of some people in NYC audiences that can't accept anything a bit different, they want a big song or two for him, a big song or two for her, a big song together, an eleven o'clock number and a couple of big chorus numbers. This is how it's done and anything else = "bad score". |
