I'm not sure I laughed at a single lyric in the show..

I think it's an okay score, not bad, but not great or even especially good in my opinion. And it is not because it isn't how it's normally done and therefor a bad score, I am always thirsty for something doing things different in musical theater, and I have a broad but critical taste. I'm glad you and many enjoy this score so much, but after the sole hearing of it in the theater in the context of the show, I must say I don't get what's so good about it. Nothing in it really stood out to me, or made me excited, or made me want to hear it again. Serviceable, sometimes delightful, but that's it for me, mostly the songs just seemed to stop the action and weren't funny enough to keep up with the comedy of the script... I will definitely give the CD a listen through though and see if I feel I missed anything the first time.

There are better songs than "Night Will Come" in Dear Evan Hansen, Great Comet, and Bandstand just to name 3. In my opinion.

This is not at all, however, to say that I hope the show closes. I do not at all.
