You'll be even more disappointed...or perhaps not care...lol...to hear that they cut Lucille out of This Is Not Over yet. So it's now a solo for Leo. I agree that All The Wasted Time would be the stronger choice. But they seemed to be going for this odd theme of "shows set in a prison" for Parade and Kiss. This makes sense for Kiss because it IS set in a prison. Parade is most definitely not set in a prison, but This Is Not Over Yet is sung by a character in jail....odd. And he sand the whole song from in-between prison bars.
I thought Dressing Them Up was fine but I am not sure a great production number would have worked. While it's cool that they have a large cast and can do things like The Girls Upstairs and the opening from Company, I don't think they could have done any of Aurora's "movie" numbers. I thought it was odd they did Buenos Aires with Eva alone on stage, no back up dancing of any kind. And to your earlier point, "Where You Are" is already immortalized on the Tonys. :-). I would have liked Anything for Him. |
