| I can't compare because I didn't see the original cast, but I thought the new folks were wonderful. Julie White actually reminded me of Laurie Metcalf at times. Odd because ordinarily I wouldn't say they resemble each other at all, but there were times I swore Julie looked like Laurie! I saw what was probably their third performance, and she was already very relaxed and confidently hitting lots and lots of colors. For those inclined to think she might be too broad a comedienne for the role, she had real heart in it. |
