I think I recall Jim Morgan usually says in his pre-curtain speech that it's an Equity requirement that the actors have the book in front of them, due to the short rehearsal period.
I wish more off-Broadway theaters had people as nice and welcoming as Jim Morgan who truly cares about theater. Everyone at that theater is always so kind and friendly. (As an opposite example, think of the person who scans the tickets at the *Downstairs* theater at the Westside theater.) |
