Other people have suggested this explanation, but I guess I don't see why anyone thought it was necessary to have Mandy Patinkin replace Josh Groban in order to have another star come into the role after Mandy. There are many, many previous examples of name performers replacing other name performers on Broadway, even without a previous name as a replacement. |
